A CAT, A CHINESE GUY AND MY FATHER (working title)

Synopsis:
George, a cynical agoraphobic woman bounded by the amount of 522 steps she can take around her house, faces the death of her only real companion, her cat. To grant its remains a proper burial place and overcome her sickness momentarily, she transfers her entire home into a van and embarks on a road trip back to her motherland, Portugal. There, she will discover, among “saudade” and “fados”, a particular manner to deal with her past and the absence of her father.

Director Biography:
Paco R. Baños is a director and writer. He was the recipient of the first Award in the SGAE Short Films Contest for his film Needs. His first feature film Ali, premiered at the Festival in Malaga, winning the Award for Best First Feature. He has directed the fourth and fifth episodes of the popular Spanish series The Plague.

Starring two times Goya Award winner Natalia de Molina, an original and heartwarming road trip comedy.
 

Director Statement:
Whenever something happens in our lives, this becomes part of our past. Accepting or not that vital experience, the world can be made the size you wish to see it. If you give up your memories, your identity, who you are, your world can be locked in a perimeter of 522 steps. My film is about the need to reconcile and accept your past, so you may find a way for your world to widen. 

Cast Biography:
Natalia de Molina is a Spanish film, theater and television actress winner of two prestigious Goya Awards for her work on Vivir es mas fácil con los ojos cerrados and Techo y Comida, thus becoming the youngest Spanish actress to get this recognition.

Nadia de Santiago is a Spanish actress known both for TV-Shows like The 13 Roses and Love is forever as well for her role in the popular Netflix series The cable girls.

Manolo Solo is a TV and Film actor and director. Among others, he starred in Guillermo del Toro’s Pan's Labyrinth. He is winner of a Goya and of two awards from the Union of Actors for Best Actor.
