SYNOPSIS
An eclectic and honest examination of Melbourne’s post-punk music scene of the late nineteen seventies that spawned the likes of Nick Cave, the Birthday Party, Rowland S. Howard, the Primitive Calculators, Whirlywirld and the unique ‘Little Band’ scene amongst many others. Participants proffer their recollections and air their animosities in a tribute to those seminal times in a sequence of remarkably candid interviews about them music, the drugs, the fashions, the influences, the philosophies, the venues and the legacy of the era. Incorporates never before seen archival footage of Melbourne’s post-punk scene and interviews with the international rock star, Michael Hutchence on the set of Australia’s only punk feature film, DOGS IN SPACE.
